چکیده

In the article listed above, the bars in Fig. 4B were erroneously labeled. The white bars should have been labeled sedentary mice (SED), and the black bars should have been labeled mice exercised with voluntary wheel running (VWR). The online version has been updated to correct these errors.

Increased Skeletal Muscle GLUT4 Expression in Obese Mice After Voluntary Wheel Running Exercise Is Posttranscriptional

Exercise promotes glucose clearance by increasing skeletal muscle GLUT4-mediated glucose uptake. Importantly, exercise upregulates muscle GLUT4 expression in an insulin-independent manner under conditions of insulin resistance, such as with type 2 diabetes. However, the insulin-independent mechanism responsible for rescued muscle GLUT4 expression is poorly understood. We used voluntary wheel ru...

Effect of Voluntary Training after the Induction of Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis on Some Myelin-Producing Proteins in Female C57BL/6 Mice

Introduction: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of voluntary training period after the induction of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) on some myelin-producing proteins in C57BL/6 female mice. Methods: In this experimental study first 28 mice, which were 6-8 weeks old, were purchased and were randomly divided into three groups. Exercise activity (n=12), he...

Investigation of the RBP4 and GLUT4 gene expression in skeletal muscle of STZ induced diabetic rats following aerobic exercise training

Background: Type2 diabetes is a metabolic disease that is rapidly increasing in the world. GLUT4 and RBP4 are factors that play a role in glucose uptake. This study aimed to investigate the effect of moderate-intensity continuous training on RBP4 and GLUT4 gene expression of soleus muscle in STZ induced diabetic rats. Methods: This experimental study was conducted between May and September 201...

Skeletal muscle adaptation to exercise training: AMP-activated protein kinase mediates muscle fiber type shift.

Regular endurance exercise has profound benefits on overall health, including the prevention of obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. The objective of this study was to determine whether AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) mediates commonly observed adaptive responses to exercise training in skeletal muscle. Six weeks of voluntary wheel running induced a significant (P < 0.05) fiber ty...

Correction: Free Access to a Running-Wheel Advances the Phase of Behavioral and Physiological Circadian Rhythms and Peripheral Molecular Clocks in Mice

Behavioral and physiological circadian rhythms are controlled by endogenous oscillators in animals. Voluntary wheel-running in rodents is thought to be an appropriate model of aerobic exercise in humans. We evaluated the effects of chronic voluntary exercise on the circadian system by analyzing temporal profiles of feeding, core body temperature, plasma hormone concentrations and peripheral exp...
